Did you know:
- pre-teens and teenagers feel large amounts of stress stemming from academic, family, and social difficulties without knowledge of how to deal with it?
- these same students say they do not have a trusted “adult” to talk with or look to for advice?
- many students wrestle with feelings of doubt, confusion, loneliness, and a lack of identity?
- pre-teens and teenagers begin asking questions such as “Who am I?”, “Where do I fit in?”, and “What’s my purpose here?”
River Community Church LOVES STUDENTS of all ages! Our desire is to share with students the truth of Scripture in order to transform them and help them impact their world. We do that by providing opportunities for kids to connect with other students their age through fun events (THRIVE), nights of worship (Chapel), serving our community together, and learning about and/or growing in a relationship with Jesus (Connexion).
Keep reading below to see when and where you can join us!
KIDS CONNECTION provides students, grades K-7, a fun environment to play with their friends, meet new friends, have dinner together, and hear a short take-away point that is Biblically-based. We will provide the dinner and games or activities, you just need to show up! All the below dates are scheduled for Friday nights at Steves Elementary School gym, from 6-8 pm.
- Being finalized.
NOTE: If you are a high school student, and would like to help us supervise/run the games/activities for volunteer hours, please contact us.
River Community Church students, grades 8-12, participate in nights of collective worship (consisting of singing praise songs, a short Bible study, and prayer) with other students from our area through The Chapel Movement. You may learn more by visiting their webpage, found here. We can go together, or you can meet us at the Richmond location each month (let us know in advance if you need a ride). Chapel lasts from 7-9 pm.
WINTER/SPRING SEMESTER 2018:
- Being finalized.
Connexion provides students, from grades 8-12, with a safe place to ask questions about life, faith, and God. You do not have to be a practicing Christian to join us. There will be time to hang out with friends, talk, and eat. (We will provide the dinner!) There will also be a short Bible study/discussion, oftentimes on video.
This winter/spring, we will continue our Alpha Youth Film Series: Ask Anything videos. Shot in various locations across Canada, this series has been a great way to engage in discussion about life, faith, and God.
